KNOW YOUR RIGHTS is an initiative aimed at increasing cosntitutional literacy in South Africa. The Constitution is said to be the cornerstone of our democracy with the BIll of Rights being instrumental to achieving the goals of the Constitution.
However, this is meaningless if the text is inaccessible and hard-to-understand for most South Africans and those living in South Africa. Although the Constitution is available in all 11 languages, it remains a daunting document.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS seeks to provide information about the Bill of Rights in an understandable manner to promote active citizens who can participate in the vindication of the rights afforded to them by the Constitution.
KNOW YOUR RIGHTS is a working initiative. We seek to grow and introduce features to enhance understanding and engagement with the Constitution.
Information is power.
